According to researchers, however, those who spend too much time sitting aren’t the only people at risk. Indeed, having a job that requires too much standing can have nearly as much of a negative impact as one that requires too much sitting. The infographic below goes into the details of how too much sitting or standing negatively impacts your body. The gist is that both can do enough damage that even daily exercise might not be enough to negate it. Luckily, the infographic also lists some things you can do (besides daily exercise) that can help you combat the harmful effects associated with being either a sitter or a stander. All in all, what this reveals is that protecting your body from the effects of the daily grind is no longer a matter of going on a daily run or doing some periodic stretches. We all need to be far more involved in keeping our bodies in tip-top shape than we were before. Does your job entail a lot of sitting or standing? What do you do to keep yourself feeling right?
